March is for Women, and other news

Embroider the Rainbow

For too long we've been eyeballing these super-cool embroideries with fun and colorful images and wanted to see if we could make our own... so we invited master embroiderer and instructor Rosanna Diggs to our next Castro Art Walk!

Join us next Thursday to make your very own rainbow embroidery! Rosanna will teach us eight functional stitches to get us started on our own embroidery adventure.

Celebrating All Women

This is a great time to identify as a woman. There have never been so many strong, empowered, diverse, LOUD female voices with messages we all need to hear. We're gonna spend March celebrating the achievements of women that have made history and are making history today. The future is indeed female.

In our stores you will find so many great things designed by and made by local woman, and lots of female empowerment images on stickers, pins and tshirts (including the above image, aka Mt. Nasty).

Fun Facts
-Women's History Month started as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, CA.
-This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote.
-Local Take is a female run and owned local business and more than half its employees are women (more than half of them being women of color).
